What to Look For in a Wedding Videographer

Planning a wedding can be stressful, and finding and contacting the right vendors can be challenging. On top of that, finding a videographer to document the wedding the way you want it can be tricky.

So we decided to write this short blog post on how to find the right videographer for your wedding. We know that our work is not for everyone, and we actually love that - and we love working with people who love our style and approach. But we also know there’s tons of different styles and tons of different wedding videographers who are doing amazing things.

From our wedding film 'Kaamil and Anjali'. Anjali is putting a ring on Kaamil as they are surrounded by beautiful flower decorations.

So if you’re having trouble finding the right videographer, here are a few tips we think are essential for finding the right one for you.

Someone You Get Along With

A videographer isn’t just someone who is giving you a product, they are a living human being (or multiple human beings). Not only that, they’re going to be with you on your most important day, and you’ll be communicating with them before and after your wedding. That’s why it’s important to book someone that you get along with and someone you vibe with.

You Love Their Style

We treat our films like art, and we like to believe we have a very unique and specific approach to our wedding films. We love that people choose us because they love our work and believe in our vision.

With that said, it’s important to choose a videographer based on their style. We know our style isn’t for everyone - and that’s okay. This is your wedding film at the end of the day: something you’re going to cherish for years to come.

So choose a videographer whose style you love and who you believe matches your vision!

Someone You Can Trust

Every videographer works differently. That’s why its important to find the videographer you believe can get the job done the way you want it. You should be able to trust them to do their job and deliver a beautiful product without having to micromanage.

One easy way to do this is by meeting your videographer before you book them. Chat with them about your goals and what you want to achieve, and see if it’s a right fit. This is something we do with our clients because we want to make sure we can deliver the film they’re looking for.

Although there’s already so much to do when planning a wedding, it’s important to spend time and find the right person for your wedding. Your wedding film is something you’ll cherish for a long time, and you’ll be so thankful you spent some extra time finding the right person when you’re watching the film 20 years from now.

Hopefully this has been helpful, and we wish you the best on finding the right person for your wedding!
